Bedside, at app.talelab.ai, is interactive fiction for adults: you talk your way through a story and it answers. This page explains what we collect when you use it, why we collect it, who processes it for us, and how to have it deleted.
What we collect
- Your account. Your email address. If you sign in with Google, Google also shares your name and profile picture with us. We never see your Google password.
- Your profile. The display name and the name characters call you, if you set them, and when you confirmed that you are 18 or older.
- Your stories. What you write, what the story writes back, including the pictures and voice clips made for it, and your progress, such as which scene you are in.
- In your browser. Cookies that keep you signed in, and a copy of a message you have sent but that has not been answered yet, so that reloading the page does not lose it.
- Service records. Our servers record requests, such as your IP address, browser type and the time, to keep the service running and secure.
How we use it
We use it to run the stories you play and keep your library, to keep the service secure and prevent abuse, and to find and fix problems. Fixing problems can include people on our team reading stories to improve how they are written. We do not sell your data, and there are no ads.
Who processes it for us
These companies process your data on our behalf, only to provide the service:
- Vercel hosts this website.
- Amazon Web Services runs the story engine and stores pictures and voice clips.
- Supabase stores accounts, profiles and stories.
- xAI writes the story's replies and pictures from your messages and the story so far.
- Fish Audio turns a story line into a voice clip when you play it.
- Google signs you in, if you choose to sign in with Google.
Their servers are mainly in the United States.
Adults only
Bedside is only for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you believe someone under 18 has an account, email us and we will delete it.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your account and stories for as long as your account exists. To get a copy of your data, or to delete your account and everything in it, email us from the address you sign in with. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights over your data, and you can use them the same way.
