Version v1 · Last updated
TaleMe is interactive fiction for adults. Stories here can be about love, desire, conflict, darkness and hurt; how explicit a story gets is set by its creator in the story's Intensity, and every player has confirmed they are 18 or older before entering. We do not judge taste, themes or explicitness. We hold one floor, described below. These guidelines apply to everyone who creates, uploads, publishes or plays here, including stories we add ourselves. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users: whatever crosses that floor is removed, and our team can end an account's creator access or suspend or terminate the account, as our Terms of Service set out.
Never allowed
Any of the following gets a story rejected or taken down, and can cost the account its creator access. It makes no difference whether you wrote it, uploaded it, or had the assistant generate it.
- Sexual content involving minors. Characters stated to be under 18, and characters whose age is vague but who are clearly minors from their looks, role, title, clothing or setting (school grades, uniforms with age cues, “loli”, “shota”, “not yet of age”). Writing a character as “actually an adult who looks like a child” does not get around this.
- Glorifying, encouraging or teaching suicide or self-harm. Suicide as release or romance, urging a character or the player towards it, or giving methods or doses.
- Instructions for real-world harm. Workable steps for poisoning, explosives, drug manufacture, attacks or intrusion; incitement to violence against real groups or people.
- Sexual content about, or personal abuse of, real living people. By name, by a recognisable description, or by photo. Public figures and people around you alike.
- Bestiality and necrophilia.
- Hatred dressed as fiction. A “story” whose point is to promote hatred of, or dehumanise, a group by race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or the like.
Reviewed by a person
These themes are not banned, but a person decides how they are handled and where the line sits, so review takes longer. Ask yourself whether the story needs them.
- Non-consensual sexual content between adults
- Incest
- Detailed extreme violence, torture or abuse
- Suicide or self-harm as background, neither glorified nor instructed
- Detailed drug use or manufacture
- A likeness of, or allusion to, a real person
Pictures and video
- Upload only images and video you have the right to use.
- People in your pictures and video must not be real people who have not agreed, and must not be minors or look like minors.
- Uploads are checked before they can be used in a story: automatically, and by a person when the check is not sure.
- Characters, artwork or text taken from other works may be removed on a valid rights complaint.
On the platform
- No multiple accounts to inflate plays, saves or reports.
- No impersonating the team, another creator or a real person.
- No contact details, payment details or links to other platforms inside a story.
- No reports made in bad faith.
What happens
- While creating: your text is reviewed when you submit the story for publication. A picture the assistant generates that crosses a “never allowed” line is not used.
- Uploads: a picture is checked after you upload it, and you can keep creating meanwhile. If the check finds a possible problem or cannot finish, a person reviews the picture; once approved you can choose to use it, and if it is rejected, upload another one. A video that crosses a line cannot be used; you see the category and can upload it again for a fresh review. Uncertain findings in a video wait for publication review.
- At publication: a hard-line hit returns the story to you as “needs changes”; a reviewed theme puts it in review for a person to decide.
- After listing: a story reported by several players is paused from recommendations (direct links still play) until a person has looked.
- Your account: findings and rejections are not counted against your account and never end creator access on their own. For serious or repeated violations, our team may end creator access; your stories and history are kept.
We tell you the category that was hit. We do not explain the rules line by line, and we do not suggest rewrites that get around them. If you disagree with a decision, ask for a human review from the story.
Reporting
You can report a story from its page, a creator from their profile, and a picture or video from its More menu. In the app, you can also report a single reply while you play: press and hold it. A person on our team looks at every report. Each report counts once per person for each story version, creator, reply, picture or video, at most ten a day. Reports made in bad faith are ignored and can affect your account.
